I began this project by researching a variety of artists and photographers whose work expressed the theme of Constructed Landscape.I particularly responded to the work of John Divola, his images are imaginative and skilful and I was keen to explore his work. His photographs were very detailed and every time you look at them you will notice something new about them. This intrigued me to be inspired by his work.
But there was one picture that stood out the most to me it was one that had a triangle in the middle and a confusing naturalistic background which really appealed to me a lot. This is because in this there was a lot of detailed paid attention to it which made me always figure out somethings new about it.When I tried his work after a lot of refinement I created something similar but my style.
I have explored a range of media, processes and techniques in this project including using, slides, collages, experimentation of Photoshop, Cyanotypes.I chose the technique of photoshop because i believed it would be better than me doing it physically as im better technologically. So i chose to go down the photo editing path.Throughout this project my work developed in a number of ways.
For example at the beginning i started to weave the photos but through this i learnt how to change the colour and design of the image and through inspiration from jhon divala i added the same image in the centre with a small size to create a seamless change of size and background.I have done his work a lot and was inspired very much through and his work inspired me a lot.
Through this I learnt a number of new skills. I found the technique of minimalist landscape very challenging because it used a lot of hand and technical work using your hand and eye coordinates which i am not the best at. Im happy with how i turned out and i think if i had more time i will refine my artistic skills and improve.I created a book and used all of my edited images and used cartrich paper this was good as a could show my photo editing to life .Im happy with how it turned out as it amplifies my work. also the book was put together using diptic so i used 2 photography technique into one.the thing that this outcome had is that it was a unique styler and i hadn’t nt seen it done before and i created it using inspiration for jhon divola.
